Getting started

Add your clubs (Bag tab), log a range session or import a launch-monitor CSV (Range tab), then find your course (Courses tab). Until you've logged about ten shots with a club, its distance is estimated from its loft and marked "est.".

My course isn't mapped

Course maps come from OpenStreetMap, where volunteers map courses. If yours has no holes, open it and tap a hole to map it yourself: the tee and green take a minute, and you can trace the green, bunkers and water too. You can also map it on OpenStreetMap so every golfer benefits; CaddiWise picks up changes within a week.

Yardages look wrong

Check Location is set to "While Using the App" in Settings › CaddiWise, and give GPS a few seconds outdoors. Yardages are from your position only when you're on the hole; otherwise they're from the tee.

Swing analysis

Prop your phone at hand height, 3–4 m away, with your whole body in frame, in good light. Face-on works best for tempo, head movement and balance; down the line for posture. Swing analysis needs an iPhone (it doesn't run in the Simulator).

Backups

Your data is stored on your iPhone. Make a backup from Settings › Your data and save it to Files or iCloud Drive; restore it the same way on a new phone.
